Software Engineer III w/ 9 years experience

The position desires the Software Engineer with Development experience and knowledge of operating software programs, configuring hardware devices and develop critical procedural steps. The position seeks strong knowledge in a Linux environment developing and managing code requiring hands on experience with Linux internals along with Python (interpreted language) and C (compiled language). The position requires knowledge with applications to complete tasks with underlying systems that run devices and control networks. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Cyber Security and development expertise to design, test, implement, and manage safeguards against cyberattacks of the system to include: Identify, mitigate, and resolve vulnerabilities within existing security systems. Work directly with penetration testers to perform penetration tests and assess potential security problems. Develop organization wide security measures. Prepare performance reports and communicate system status to keep users and leadership informed. Maintain quality service by following organization standards, attending educational workshops for increased technical knowledge, and reviewing publications. Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.  Preferred Qualifications: Experience working within a Scrum team or agile environment. The Software Engineer III is responsible for designing, engineering, analyzing, and develops software systems. The Software Engineer III designs, analyzes, and develops the software delivery processes (including DevOps pipelines). The Software Engineer III is responsible for designing, engineering, analyzing, and develops software systems. The Software Engineer III designs, analyzes, and develops the software delivery processes (including DevOps pipelines). The Software Engineer III models and analyzes the software development and deployment processes. The Software Engineer III assists Federal agencies in tailoring Agile development and delivery techniques. The Software Engineer III engages with Government leaders in defining the context, problem space, and vision to determine capabilities, priorities, roadmaps, Transformation Plans, and next steps. The Software Engineer III develops Agile processes, plans, and architectures to support software development, analysis, and operations. 

 9 years Experience. Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent. HS 13 years of experience, Associates and 11 years of experience.


A candidate holding a relevant Master’s degree may be granted 2 years’ experience credit for that extra education.

A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years’ experience credit for that extra education.
